Central Texas Flooding

From the office of the vice president of Student Affairs, UT Dallas

Comets,

Over the holiday weekend, we all watched news unfold about the impact of the Central Texas flooding on the state. We know that many current students live in the affected areas. We want to provide comfort to those of you who are suffering as a result. Please refer to the information and resources below. If you need additional guidance not addressed here, reach us directly at dos@utdallas.edu. Your UTD community is here for you.

Campus Resources

Basic Needs Resource Center

The Basic Needs Resource Center connects students with on- and off-campus resources and services in areas such as housing and food insecurity, clothing, pregnancy and parenting support and short-term emergency aid.

Student Counseling Center

If you need emotional support, staff from the Student Counseling Center are available. You may stop by the center during regular business hours or utilize the after-hours crisis hotline at 972-UTD-TALK (972-883-8255).

Comet Cupboard

Comet Cupboard, an on-campus food bank for students, is also available if needed. Its primary mission is to provide necessary food and personal care items to members of the UT Dallas community. It is located in MC 1.608, in the basement of the Eugene McDermott Library.

Please check in on and look out for each other and consider helping those less fortunate where and when you can.

Dr. Gene Fitch Jr.

Vice President for Student Affairs
