Dear Comets,
Like many of you, I am angry and upset about the senseless and tragic attacks and violence against Black Americans. I recognize your feelings of frustration and helplessness as our country struggles not only with life during a pandemic but also with the
hostility and inequality that continue to confront Black lives on a daily basis.
I want the students of UT Dallas to know I stand with those of you who have experienced racial injustice. You deserve more. Racism and hate have no place in our society and they have no place at UT Dallas. In order for us to learn and grow, and ultimately
advance our society beyond its current state, we must follow values of respect, justice and humanity for all.
I aim for Student Affairs to embody a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. UT Dallas is a proud host to 5,700 international students from 102 countries. Our campus community values diversity and works hard to provide you with multicultural experiences
in a welcoming atmosphere. We provide the framework for students to learn and develop as they adjust to the expectations, standards and academic rigors of the university while fostering pride in the UT Dallas community.
I hope to share more about the ways in which we can incite change. Until then, below are resources where you can learn more about diversity and inclusion on our campus, as well as assistance if you are struggling.

I see you, I hear you, and I stand with you.
