Student Media
- For the second consecutive year, The Mercury is a finalist for the Associated Collegiate Press’ Pacemaker Award, the top honor in college journalism. Winners are announced in October.
- Radio UTD currently has 60 deejays running 52 shows.

Galerstein Women’s Center
- 403 students visited the center for Breakfast Bonanza and Tea Tuesday during Welcome Week.
- Matt Johns was hired as student development specialist II and starts Sept. 17.

- Current occupancy numbers: University Village Apartments, 98 percent and University Commons Residence Halls, 97 percent.
Living Learning Communities
- The LLC program has 742 students attending 23 courses weekly in Residence Hall West.
- Amber Mahler has been promoted to assistant director of Living Learning Communities.
Residential Life
- Peer advisors hosted 1,552 students in community socials during move-in week.
- Residential Life is conducting searches for residential life coordinator and housing placement coordinator positions.

Student Union
- 20,000 visits to the Student Union during the first week of classes.
- The Pegasus, Gemini and Phoenix rooms have new LCD projectors and sound systems installed.
- New website includes links to room reservation tutorials.

- The ISSO app is now available for Android and iPhone and has been downloaded 500+ times to date.
- Melissa Hernandez, intercultural programs coordinator will begin Sept. 8. She previously was an international student advisor.
