Athletics
  • Jan. 30: Softball season opens at Texas Lutheran. The team is picked to finish seventh overall in the ASC preseason poll.
  • Feb. 1: Basketball vs. Ozarks, 5:30/7:30 p.m. Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The first 200 fans in attendance receive a free T-shirt. The volleyball team will be recognized during halftime at the men's game for their achievements during the 2015 season.
  • Feb. 12: Baseball season open against Chapman University. The team is picked to finish third overall in the ASC preseason poll.
  • Conference-wide, one student-athlete for each of the six ASC fall sports was recognized as a Distinguished Scholar-Athlete, including three from UT Dallas. They are: sophomore Samantha Tschirhart, for women's cross country; junior Michelle Toro, for volleyball; and junior Sam Konstanty, for men's soccer.

  • Feb. 3: Free flu shots to currently enrolled students, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Galaxy Rooms.

  • Jan. 26: Free self-defense workshop. Reality-based system presented by Lauren Hidalgo, certified trainer for Academy of Combative Warrior Arts, 8:15-10 p.m., Activity Center MPO.
 
Wellness Center

  • Jan. 26: Resolution Revolution "Healthy Eating Across Campus," 6 p.m., Residence Hall West.

Student Development
  • The UT Dallas cheerleaders recently attended the UCA College National Championship at Disney World and came in sixth place.
 
Student Volunteerism
  • Jan. 28: Freshmen Engaged in Service Together (FEST), 2-3:30 p.m., SU 2.602. Freshmen may register online.
  • Searching for staff/faculty to volunteer as responsible university officials (RUOs) for Alternative Spring Break. Contact Monalisa Amidar for details and application.
  • A can opener drive is ongoing through January and benefits students who use the Comet Cupboard. Donate new or gently used non-electric can openers in the OSV office (SSB 3.600), the Administration Building near the second floor elevator, the RHS lobby, and the first floor/ lobby entrance of the SU.   • Three student leaders are representing UT Dallas at the No Frills Student Leadership Conference at the University of Oklahoma Feb. 19-21.
  • Searches for a residential life coordinator (RH Southwest) and an assistant director (University Commons) are ongoing.
  • LLC coordinator Capri Mandella graduated with her Master of Arts in Educational Administration from New Mexico State University in December.
