Athletics
- The new Athletics website has launched.
- The men's golf team was named NCAA Division III Academic National Champions by the Golf Coaches Association of America in recognition of its team GPA of 3.75 during the 2015-16 academic year.
- The Comet volleyball team was honored with the Team Academic Award by the American Volleyball Coaches Association for the second consecutive season. The Comets finished the year with a 3.54 team GPA.
- Sophomore Hailey Hollas is the first UT Dallas women's golfer to earn All-America Scholar recognition by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
- Tom Monagan was honored with the Excellence in Athletic Training Award from the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association for his life-saving work during a men's soccer match last fall.
- Natalie Marlowe joined as assistant women's basketball and assistant women's golf coach.
- Rayn House is the new assistant softball and head women's cross country coach.
- Valerie Hoops was promoted to the newly-created position of marketing, promotions and social media coordinator.

- 48 women are registered for Panhellenic recruitment, scheduled for Sept. 9-11.

Student Development
- Cometville (formerly Cometville Carnival) is a great way to promote your office and interact with hundreds of students. It's scheduled for Aug. 24 on the SU Mall. Sign up via OrgSync.
- Cheer and dance recently attended camp at Southern Methodist University, and for the first time in program history, the Power Dancers received a Silver Bid to NCA Nationals and two dancers received All-American recognition.
Student Union
- Remodeled bathrooms outside the Galaxy Rooms and The Pub are now open. In addition, a gender-neutral bathroom was added near The Pub.

- Julie Spanos recently received two awards from the University & College Designers Association, known as UCDA, for her 2016 iWeek design. She was recognized in two categories: special event (silver) and poster (excellence). Her art was chosen from among 1,100 print entries.
