Vice President for Student Affairs

  • Congratulations to Kacey Sebeniecher on her appointment to director of the Student Wellness Center. Her appointment was effective Sept. 1.
  • Dr. Amanda Smith is co-author of the article, "New Approach to School Health Initiatives: Using Fitness Measures Instead of Body Mass Index to Evaluate Outcomes." The article appears in the August 2016 edition of Journal of Extension.
  • The HOP Committee recently approved a proposal creating administrative graduate assistant positions. This allows our division to now look at creative ways to provide experiences for graduate students that previously did not exist. Please consult with your supervisor to further explore these opportunities.
  • The Regents have voted to remove the UT System from the process used to approve institution policies. Policies will now be approved at the campus level by the president with input from University counsel and the Office of General Counsel as appropriate. This should expedite the process and improve efficiencies.
  • David Crain, VP/CIO, has accepted a position with UT System. Brian Dourty has been appointed interim vice president and chief information officer. A national search will begin after the Labor Day holiday.
