Vice President for Student Affairs

Athletics

  • The baseball team had 12 players named to the All-American Southwest Conference Teams last week. Junior Jamie Andriot was tabbed ASC Pitcher of the Year, leading seven players on the ASC's First Team, while the staff was listed as the ASC's Coaching Staff of the Year. UTD also had the league's Freshman of the Year (Isaiah Swann) and Newcomer of the Year (Barry Casey).

  • New cases for the week of May 1: Academic dishonesty (31), misconduct (2).
 

Health and Wellness Initiatives

Counseling Center

  • Clinical services/sessions for the week of May 1: Intakes, consultation and counseling (96), crisis services (13), psychiatric evaluations and treatment (24), group/couple counseling (27), testing (4), outreach (2).
  • Center for Students in Recovery services for the week of May 1: Individual recovery support (4), other contacts (29). Group meetings: 12 step-all addictions (1), Nourish Eating Disorder support group (1), SMART (1), Sexual Addicts Anonymous (1).
 

Recreational Sports

  • Congratulations to Frankie Branham, who won a Staff Council Care Award for spring.
 

Student Engagement Initiatives

Student Development

  • Planning for Weeks of Welcome will begin at the end of the month. Please watch for meeting invitations.
  • May 26: Summer Organization Fair signups end.
 

Student Volunteerism

  • The OSV engaged 562 students, 21 community partners, 12 campus departments and 12 student organizations during the 6th annual UT Dallas Earth Week. More than 385 volunteer hours were donated, which equates to approximately $9,682 in volunteer labor.
  • June 8: Butterfly Flutterby, 9-11 a.m., SSA lobby. Registration required.
  • June 12: Boys & Girls Club summer camp, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., SSA lobby. Registration required.
 

Student Transition Initiatives

Career Center

  • May 25: Last day to enroll for the 11-week internship course. Late registration is May 26-June 7 (late fee applies).
