Vice President for Student Affairs

  • Below is an update about Student Affairs operations as we navigate the university closure related to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, I encourage staff to monitor the special UT Dallas website, as well as their university email, for updates and information related to this situation. I appreciate your assistance in looking out for our students and your Student Affairs colleagues. Please take care of yourselves and your families in the coming weeks, stay as positive as you can, and don't forget to wash your hands.
 



Athletics

  • In response to announcements by the NCAA and the ASC related to postseason competitions, all UTD athletic activities are canceled for the safety of student athletes, staff and fans.
 

Dean of Students

Community Standards and Conduct

  • Meetings and hearings will continue in a virtual format.
 

Health & Wellness Initiatives

Counseling Center

  • Individual students are being seen remotely as needed. All groups and workshops are canceled. The most current information about SCC services is available online
 

Health Center

  • Students primarily are being directed to the available 24/7 nurse line.
 

Student AccessAbility

  • Meeting with students through Teams.
  • Working with e-learning to make online courses accessible as needed. Will modify accommodations for online instruction for students who are currently registered through the OSA.
  • Students not registered through the OSA but who require accommodations for online instruction may fill out the Request for Services form on the OSA website.
 

University Recreation

  • An online "Workout of the Day" will be posted on social media to help keep followers active.
 

Wellness Center

  • Students may be seen remotely for nutrition and other wellness related topics.
 

Student Engagement Initiatives

  • Fraternity and Sorority Life, Intercultural Programs, Student Development, the Student Union and the Office of Student Volunteerism are working together to create virtual programming for students.
 

Student Transition Initiatives

Military and Veteran Center

  • Staff will arrange virtual meetings with students as requested.
 

Student Transition Programs

  • Will move upcoming Transfer Orientations to an online format.
 

University Career Center

  • Career development appointments will be held virtually.
  • Will provide virtual workshops and seminars.
  • Student and employers are invited to participate in the UT System Virtual Career Fair on April 7.
  • More information about available services can be found online.
 

Finance and Administrative Services

Business Operations

  • Liz Ramirez and Amanda Saucedo are available via email or Teams.
 

Marketing and Student Media

Marketing

  • If you have urgent marketing needs, please email Jenni Huffenberger and she will route your request/question to the appropriate staff member as needed. If you're able to do so remotely, please continue to use JIRA for job requests (must be connected through VPN).
  • Digital signage has been updated to remove canceled events, activities and programs. The outdoor sign on Rutford has been turned off until further notice.
  • Temoc's social media will continue to operate in limited format.
 

Student Media

  • The Mercury and AMP will deliver all content online via their respective websites for the remainder of the semester. Radio UTD and UTD TV are dark at this time.

Galerstein Gender Center

  • Though the physical space of the Gender Center is closed to visitors at this time, staff is virtually present and available to advise, listen and connect with through email, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
 

Multicultural Center

  • The Multicultural Center is preparing to deliver programming and services online. All questions or requests for information may be directed to staff via email.
