Basic Needs Resource Center
The Basic Needs Resource Center connects students with on- and off-campus resources and services in areas such as housing and food insecurity, clothing donation, pregnancy and parenting support and short-term emergency aid.
Center for Students in Recovery
The Center for Students in Recovery assists students with substance use disorders or other addictions, those affected by addiction, or individuals questioning or exploring the impact of potential addictive behavior on his or her life.
Comet Card Office
At the Comet Card Office, students can pick up their Comet Card (UT Dallas' student ID card), obtain discount passes to venues and events, receive free notary services, purchase stamps and more.
Dean of Students
The Dean of Students office provides leadership in the development, overall management and supervision of programs and services within the Division of Student Affairs.
Fraternity and Sorority Life
Fraternity and Sorority Life is home to 27 national Greek fraternities and sororities. These organizations provide more than 1,100 students with opportunities for friendship, guidance and leadership that last beyond their college experience.
University Housing
University Housing has oversight of the University's residence halls and apartments. The department reviews maintenance and financial reports and establishes housing policies and procedures. University Housing includes Housing Operations, Living Learning Communities (LLCs), Residential Camp and Conference Services (RCCS) and Residential Life.
Intercollegiate Athletics
More than 300 student athletes compete in the team sports of baseball, softball, basketball, soccer and volleyball, and in the individual sports of golf, tennis and cross country. The Comets became part of the NCAA Division III in 1998, and the American Southwest Conference in 2002.
Intercultural Programs
Intercultural Programs offers experiences that develop, promote and enhance intercultural competence and that support the integration of international students into campus life. Programs include international student orientation, International Week, iFriend and global engagement workshops for faculty and staff.
Leadership & Organizational Development
The Division of Student Affairs is committed to developing the knowledge and skills of our staff. We value the education and career development of each employee and believe professional development is essential to promoting a standard of excellence within a learning organization. Student Affairs is an integral part of the institutional mission and must therefore focus on continued development of staff to ensure intentional preparation for the work of Student Affairs. The organizational development process includes formal and informal learning strategies for professional and personal growth. Leadership and professional development are a life-long commitment that includes the development of skills at varying levels and different stages throughout the career path.Military and Veteran Center
The Military and Veteran Center (MVC) provides resources and support for UT Dallas students who are veterans, current military service members (Active/Guard/Reserve), military spouses and dependents and ROTC cadets.
Office of Community Standards and Conduct
The Office of Community Standards and Conduct encourages student learning, growth and development by promoting awareness of the University’s expectations of behavior, holding students accountable for violations of these expectations, and developing educational sanctions designed to address the consequences of student decisions. The office works closely with the Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team.
Office of Student Volunteerism
The Office of Student Volunteerism offers students a variety of opportunities to lend their time and talents toward improving the communities of UT Dallas, North Texas and beyond.
Student Affairs Marketing
Student Affairs Marketing oversees creative concepts and designs for Student Affairs-related ads, websites, brochures, flyers, banners, newsletters and other collateral materials that promote the overall image of Student Affairs at UT Dallas.
Student Counseling Center
The Student Counseling Center helps students maintain the emotional well-being necessary for their success. The Center's professional staff of licensed psychologists and counselors is available by appointment or in times of emergency. Sexual assault recovery services are also available. All counseling is confidential.
Student Development
Student development includes Comet Spirit Programs, the Graduate Student Assembly, Homecoming, Student Government and Weeks of Welcome.
Student Health Center
The Student Health Center provides quality care for acute and stabilized chronic illnesses, minor injuries, women's care and preventative health care. Visits are free to currently enrolled students, and care is provided by a staff of licensed, registered and certified professionals. There are nominal fees for lab work, medications and certain procedures. Comets may learn about Student Health Insurance through the Student Health Center.
Student Media
Student Media includes The Mercury, Radio UTD, UTD-TV and AMP. The Mercury publishes bi-weekly on Mondays throughout the school year. Radio UTD is an internet radio station, UTD-TV broadcasts entertainment and other online content, and AMP focuses on student life, global politics, the arts and social commentary.
Student Organization Center
There are about 400 student organizations at UT Dallas, ranging from academic interest, to cultural, to recreation, to service, to special interest, to Greek, and more. All registered student groups are managed through the Student Organization Center, which provides an outlet to help the groups connect and engage with the campus community at large.
Student Transition Programs
The Student Transition Programs office plans and arranges Freshman Orientations, Comet Camp, Success Camp and the Road Warriors program. They also provide involvement opportunities specific to the transfer, sophomore, junior and senior student populations. Through Student Transition Programs, students receive peer support and guidance to help them get a strong start at UT Dallas.
Student Union
The Student Union is a place for students to hang out, eat and relax. Open seven days a week, it includes a TV lounge, study areas, pool and Ping-Pong tables, the Comet Café and multi purpose rooms. Also a part of the Student Union are esports, the Student Union Activities Advisory Board (SUAAB) and the Room Reservation System.
Student Wellness Center
The Student Wellness Center assists and encourages students to adopt responsible behaviors related to various health topics through evidence-based educational programs, resources and individual consultations.
University Career Center
The University Career Center offers a variety of services for students at all stages of their job search process. Services include career counselors, mock interview training and resume review. The center hosts workshops and job expos, has an online job search database and helps students find internships.
University Recreation
University Recreation includes aquatics, club sports, fitness, intramural sports and informal recreation. The Activity Center includes a fitness area, racquetball, squash and basketball courts, a climbing wall, a multi-purpose room and an indoor swimming pool. Outdoors, there are sand volleyball courts, tennis courts and softball, baseball and soccer fields. Rec Center West, located near the residence halls, features indoor courts, a fitness area and a multipurpose room.
